Ep 192: Can you really be “self-made?”

In today’s episode, I talk about the topic of being “self-made.” Have you ever thought you were self-made or said that someone else is “self-made?” Well, today we’re going to dig deep into this subject so that you will think differently about YOU and how you build your business.

First off, I talk through famous people who are considered sort of self-made. And it’s interesting to understand the range from Oprah (completely self-made in terms of what people think of as “self-made”) to others who inherit everything & already had been setup to be successful.

For your business, I want you to take a moment and realize that even though you created your business yourself, and maybe you came up with the idea and everything, but most likely you are not actually self-made. That you had many along the way who helped you. And I share some thoughts on this.

What I want you to see is that rather than being self-made…you are probably Self-Disciplined. And resourceful. And Committed to your people. That’s what makes you successful. It’s not that you did everything yourself. It’s that you had the diligence to keep pushing forward.

So give yourself a pat on the back. You are doing WAY more than many people ever do. And you are pursuing your dream!
